Illustrated Postcards That Give You Wanderlust

I was hired to create a series of illustrated postcards for a company that makes high-quality, eco-friendly furniture. Their brand draws on the lush, dreamy landscape of the products' country of origin, Indonesia. For this initial postcard run, we looked at photos taken by one of the owners, Emily, during a recent trip to Bali for inspiration. In one photo, Emily had captured a quick snapshot of a woman on her motorbike checking out a busy street. The idea of her had this intoxicating mix of fantasy and freedom.

Using her as a reference and inspiration, I worked out a composition that would show our hero in all her glory while also telling the story of the vegetation, coastline, and pristine waters of Bali. These postcards will be used in a variety of ways, from product packaging to correspondence. They are a great example of how a brand can use art to tell its unique story in an innovative way.
