Photograph Friday

I studied photography when I was in school and have taken photographs all my life, but since I’ve always thought of myself as a painter, I never considered my photographs as my artwork.

Recently it occured to me that this is a silly boxy way to think about things. My photographs have always informed my paintings and the way I paint influences what I photograph. I’d like to eventually show my paintings and photographs together. I’m not yet sure how and when that would come about, but I’m sure the opportunity will present itself eventually. In the meantime, I’m going to do some posts that feature some of my favorite photos. I hope you enjoy them!

Here’s a collection of photos that is about collections of things. The photos talk about our simultaneous isolation from and connection to plant materials and other natural things.
