Creative Release This Month

For August at the Creative Release Station, it was all about making cozy homes for little plants. The one-and-only Francis Claudio planned and led a community paint-a-pot session. She supplied the group with small succulents in need of some TLC, very small white ceramic pots, and painting supplies. Everyone shared and talked through the session. Some very small masterpieces were made. I was especially happy to have my daughter, Mazzy, join the group that summer afternoon.

Here’s the home I made for my little succulent. It was inspired by the shapes and patterns of the flora.

Mazzy went a different direction. She painted a portrait of Franz Kafka on her plant’s home.
