Manny’s Block Party Story
PFB Block Party Coasters are transparent blocks that double as art devices. Since they are clear, the playful images combine and the possibilities are endless. They are also super sustainable. Each one comes from reclaimed plastic that otherwise would have ended up in a landfill. They inspire play, conversation, and storytelling. They are great for the coffee table since adults can hang out and schmooze with them. At the same time, they are at the perfect height for little people to discover as well.
These playful little gems began with sheets of plastic that were headed for the dumpster. When I saw these thick transparent sheets of lucite I saw endless possibilities. My brother works for a company in the entertainment industry and while visiting him at work one day I saw these pieces of unused stage flooring. I rescued them and then started playing around with images on the material.
Block Party Coasters are all about storytelling and creating one thing from another. Since they're crafted from reclaimed materials, each coaster may have its own set of minor scuffs and scrapes that share its unique history.
